But, after that, they experienced a batting collapse.
“We did not get the total we were expecting.” - India Women’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur
India lost the next five wickets for just 11 runs and they scored just 102 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. For the home side, Rabeya Khan took three wickets for 16 runs in four overs. In reply, Bangladesh batters held their nerved and chased down the target with four wickets and 10 balls to spare. Shamima won the Player of the Match award while Harmanpreet Kaur won the Player of the Series award for scoring 94 runs.
After the match, during the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet said: “Bangladesh looked aware today, the way they were batting. Lots of learning that we will take. They did not give us a single chance to take the game. We need to stay positive and see what can be done. This wicket, we need to depend on singles. Our batting collapsed; we could not get even six runs an over. The five overs were the game-changer. We did not get the total we were expecting.”

Really unhappy with Smriti these days, the way she is getting out is like she is gifting away her wicket. Didn't expect this from such a class player and a former No.3 batter to play such shots (after few days.. 🥲)

Selectors are wasting few talents and this squad can't even score run a ball shows poor domestic in ind. Always can't depends upon captain others need to step up. Eng 10th bowler led to win the match but our 6th order batter can't even score 5 runs.#banvind

#BANvIND power hitting is missing what we witnessed in WPL,,,, openers @mandhana_smriti @TheShafaliVerma flopped miserably in all three matches @ImHarmanpreet alone can not win all the games . JOTY was exceptionally superb👏👏

Morever players should improve themselves need to focus on batting and fitness. Ind can't win the wc with this kind of approach. Next ind will play test match in odi. #banvind
