On 13 July 2023, India Women locked horns with Bangladesh Women in the third T20I. After winning the first two games, India already bagged the series and they were looking for a clean sweep with another win. While the home side were looking to avoid it with a consolation win in Mirpur.

Speaking of the match, Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bat first. While batting first, after the first 10 overs, India were on 55 runs for two wickets. After that, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 40 runs off 41 balls, including three fours and one six. She got out on the second delivery of the 17th over and India lost their fourth wicket. But, after that, they experienced a batting collapse.

India lost the next five wickets for just 11 runs and they scored just 102 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. For the home side, Rabeya Khan took three wickets for 16 runs in four overs. In reply, Bangladesh batters held their nerved and chased down the target with four wickets and 10 balls to spare. Shamima Sultana was the highest scorer with 42 runs off 46 balls, including three fours. Thus, with this consolation win, Bangladesh Women avoided the whitewash and India Women won the series 2-1. Shamima won the Player of the Match award while Harmanpreet Kaur won the Player of the Series award for scoring 94 runs.

After the match, during the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet said: “Bangladesh looked aware today, the way they were batting. Lots of learning that we will take. They did not give us a single chance to take the game. We need to stay positive and see what can be done. This wicket, we need to depend on singles. Our batting collapsed; we could not get even six runs an over. The five overs were the game-changer. We did not get the total we were expecting.”
