The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League is going on. However, Mohammad Haris has been a great find so far for Pakistan. He impressed everyone during the 20-20 World Cup 2022 for the Men in Green. In that tournament, he scored 97 runs in four innings, at a strike rate of 144.77.


Haris showed a wide range of shots all around the field. Thus, fans were happy to see such an exciting batting talent. Currently, he is busy playing for the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the PSL along with the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam. In the ongoing tournament, he has scored 108 runs so far in four innings.

On 23 February 2023, he was in action for the Peshawar side and scored 40 runs off 21 balls. Haris batted at a strike rate of 190.47, including four boundaries and one six. Now, a famous Pakistan journalist, Farid Khan came up with a big comparison of this new player with the team India batter, Suryakumar Yadav. Currently, Suryakumar Yadav is the number one-ranked batter in T20Is. He has taken the world by storm in the shortest format of the game with his innovative shots and adjustments. As of now, Suryakumar has played 48 matches so far and scored 1675 runs in 46 innings. His overall average and strike rate have been 46.52 and 175.76 respectively, including 13 fifties and three centuries. 


But, Mohammad Haris has played five T20Is so far and scored 104 runs, at an average of 20.80. Even, his strike rate has been 138.66. So, fans were in shock when the journalist compared the youngster with the team India batter. Speaking of the recent match of Peshawar Zalmi, Harris’ 40 runs were crucial as they scored 156 runs for eight winnings in 20 overs. In reply, Islamabad United chased down the target in style in just 14.5 overs. Thus, they won the match by six wickets.
