In the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pulled off a miraculous comeback against Gujarat Titans, the reigning champions (GT). No one gave KKR a chance as they needed 43 runs off the final two overs after stand-in skipper Rashid Khan's hat-trick.

However, 25-year-old Rinku Singh believed and scored 40 runs off the final seven balls he faced to lead KKR to one of the most unlikely victories in cricket history, with just 29 runs needed off the last over. But while there was happiness in one area, there was anguish in another because left-arm pacer Yash Dayal was the victim of all the bloodshed.

Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office: KKR

Dayal threw three complete tosses in a row before trimming his length and altering his delivery, but Rinku was simply in a different frame of mind. Even though none of the five deliveries was of a length that could be struck, Rinku was unfazed, and KKR won. Dayal, who was sitting on his haunches, was understandably disappointed.

Even acting captain Rashid felt bad for the left-arm seamer, who is Rinku's partner on the Uttar Pradesh side, adding that he did everything, but Rinku was just too brilliant that day. The seamer had his face buried in his hands. Following the game, KKR took the internet by storm with a touching message for Dayal in which they said that everyone has bad days sometimes and that Dayal will only grow from this experience.

"Chin up, lad. Just a hard day at the office happens to the best of players in cricket. You're a champion, Yash, and you're gonna come back strong," KKR made this touching tweet. The KKR social media crew and the fans received nothing but praise for their thoughtful act.

The Men in Purple moved up to the second position in the points table thanks to their second victory in the competition, which gave them two points. On Friday, April 14, the Knight Riders will play the Sunrisers Hyderabad, who also opened their account on Sunday, April 9, following two consecutive losses.
