On 7 June 2023, the final of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) began at the Oval between India and Australia. After two years of action, these teams finally met for this epic clash in England. However, Chris Gayle was also seen attending the clash at the ground. Now, in an interaction with the Apex Council of Cricket, Gayle said that Hardik Pandya is the most stylish player currently.

Seeing such a statement from Gayle, fans went crazy and shared their views. Gayle is known for his style on and off the field. Hardik Pandya even is known for his style. Speaking of the final, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, fans were left shocked to see Ashwin not getting a place in the final playing XI.

Australia scored 469 runs in the first innings

Speaking of Australia’s first innings, they got bundled out for 469 runs in 121.3 overs on day two. Travis Head was the highest scorer with 163 runs off 174 balls, including 25 fours and one six. While Steve Smith scored 121 runs off 268 balls, including 19 fours. Apart from them, Alex Carey scored 48 runs off 69 balls, including seven fours and one six while David Warner scored 43 runs off 60 balls, including eight fours. For India, Mohammed Siraj took four wickets while both Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur grabbed two wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja also took one wicket.

However, on day one, India managed only three wickets and the former coach, Ravi Shastri was not happy with the tactics of skipper Rohit Sharma. While speaking to Star Sports, he said: "Once you had picked the team, it's fine - Ashwin played or not and that you fielded. But you could have been tactically much sounder after that. Siraj and Shami had to bowl their second spells in the first session. They gave too long spells to Shami and Siraj at the start. You know they have not played first-class cricket for three or four months and it will be difficult to bowl the entire day. The thinking should have been that this pitch will improve once the sun comes out, so they should have been preserved and used at the right time.”
