'Easy win' - Fans appreciate India's performance after their comfortable win in first ODI vs Zimbabwe

Team India locked horns with Zimbabwe in the first of the three-match ODI series, Indian skipper KL Rahul won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first at Harare Sports Club. Zimbabwe could post a total of only 189 runs for the loss of all wickets in 40.3 overs.

Batting second, the opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill comfortably chased down the target with an unbeaten partnership of 192 runs and India won the match by 10 wickets.

Indian cricket fans also took to Twitter for appreciating the performance of team India and the players. Some of the fans also went on to predict their own player of the matches on social media.

Batting first, Zimbabwe had a very poor start as they lost their six wickets only on the score of 83 runs. All thanks to the bowling heroics of Deepak Chahar, Prasidh Krishna, and Axar Patel. These three scalped three wickets each. Apart from this, Mohammed Siraj also scalped a wicket to his name.

Deepak Chahar bowled a very excellent spell as he conceded only 27 runs in the seven overs to take three wickets. Whereas, Axar Patel also conceded only 24 runs in 7.3 overs to claim three scalps to his name. Indian bowlers bundled the hosts only on the score of 189 runs in 40.3 overs.

While chasing the target, the opening pair of senior batter Shikhar Dhawan and young batter Shubman Gill made it look so easy and comfortable. They both made an unbeaten partnership of 192 runs and chased down the target of 190 runs only in 30.5 overs with 19.1 overs to spare.

Dhawan played a knock of 81 runs off 113 balls with nine boundaries to his name. Whereas, young lad Shubman Gill also played a magnificent knock of 82 runs off 72 balls with 10 boundaries and a six from his willow. Eventually, the men in blue won the opening fixture of the series by a massive margin of 10 wickets.
