Prithvi Shaw was recently seen in the IPL 2023, playing for Delhi Capitals (DC). But, despite having a good domestic season, he failed to showcase his form for his franchise. Before the season, fans were expecting a lot from this batter and hoping for explosive starts from him. But, he scored just 106 runs in eight matches, at an average of 13.25 and a strike rate of 124.71.

Now, he came up with a cryptic Instagram story as it was written: “Don’t settle for being someone’s sometimes.” Seeing that, fans went crazy and it seemed that it can be an indirect dig at his girlfriend Nidhi Tapadiaa. Recently, they both were seen attending IIFA Awards in Dubai. So, fans were quite surprised to see such a story from the batter.

During his poor show in the recently concluded IPL, he also got dropped from DC’s playing XI. Regarding that, after their loss against CSK, DC head coach, Ricky Ponting said: "Prithvi... the fact that he is not playing is an indication that he did not perform as we wanted him to. No one has really grabbed the opportunity with both hands yet." Against Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi, DC registered their first win of the 2023 season.

In that match, DC’s target was only 128 runs. But, Shaw scored only 13 runs. So, the former England cricketer, Michael Vaughan was not happy while speaking to Cricbuzz. He said: “I think he needs big innings. He needs some runs. He can’t keep going on reputation. He can’t keep going with what is done in the past. He needs to produce the runs here and now. He has got a poor start. He has not gotten out of Powerplay with the bat in hand yet. I think he comes out plays the way he has done in the past, but he needs to be there at the end of the sixth. He has to see his team home and (get) 60-70 not out.” However, he will be seen in action in the upcoming Duleep Trophy while playing for West Zone.
