'Don't go by his size' - Twitter in awe of 'pocket rocket' Ayush Badoni after sizzling half-century

Lucknow and Gujarat have finally made their debut match in the Indian T20 league 2022. There was a lot of hype pertaining to the clash between the two new teams due to the players on either side. However, it looked as if this game was going to turn into a one-sided affair.

Mohammed Shami was breathing fire as he wreaked havoc during the powerplay overs. As a matter of fact, he dismissed KL Rahul in the first over of the match. Lucknow had a batting collapse as their top-order perished and barely added any runs. Shami went on to dismiss Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey as well.

At the end of the sixth over, Lucknow were 32-4 and were looking in all sorts of trouble. However, the youngster Ayush Badoni joined forces with Deepak Hooda to resurrect Lucknow's innings. Initially, he took his time and was playing carefully.

However, he then accelerated and started to play the big shots. Despite making his Indian T20 league debut, he took the responsibility on himself after Hooda's dismissal and showed a lot of maturity. He went on to score a half-century, and impressed one and all. Badoni hit the big shots against the likes of Rashid Khan as well. His aggressive approach was superb.

Although he was dismissed in the last over, he ensured that Lucknow get to a decent total. His 54 off 41 balls propelled the KL Rahul-led side to 158-6 at the end of the second innings. Several fans were might impressed with the 22-year-old. They took to Twitter to appreciate him for his knock. His knock gave Lucknow a fighting chance to win this game. Hence, it will be exciting to see how he fares in the remaining games of the Indian T20 league 2022.
