Northern Superchargers and Trent Rockets locked horns in the seventh match of The Hundred Men’s Competition 2022. Rockets’ skipper Lewis Gregory won the toss and decided to bowl first. Northern Superchargers posted a decent total of 152 runs for the loss of eight wickets in a maximum of 20 overs.

Later on, the Rockets chased down the target in 18.4 overs with eight balls to spare. Dawid Malan won the award of player of the match for his brilliant match-defining knock. Lewis Gregory & c0 earned two points after this win and got a strong position in the tournament.

The fans also appreciated the performance of the Trent Rockets. They praised Dawid Malan for his excellent outing.

Batting first, only David Wiese and Roelof Van Der Merwe could score some decent innings for the Northern Superchargers. Wiese played a knock of 50 runs off just 27 balls with two boundaries and five sixes to his name. Whereas Van der Merwe scored 30 runs off 24.

With the help of these two knocks, Superchargers somehow reached a total of 152 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Daniel Sams scalped three wickets for Rockets whereas Luke Wood and Luke Fletcher claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target, the opening pair of senior batter Alex Hales alongside the blistering opener Dawid Malan provided a strong start to the team. They both made a partnership of 86 runs for the first wicket in 10.3 overs. Malan played an excellent match-defining knock of 88 runs off just 49 balls with 11 boundaries and three sixes. Whereas Alex Hales scored 43 runs off 27 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

The two individual innings helped the Rockets to easily chase the target with more than an over to spare. Dwayne Bravo, Ben Raine, and Adil Rashid scalped one wicket each for the Superchargers but it couldn’t help them to defend the target.
