Babar Azam got a lot of criticism after his poor captaincy abilities at home in the longest format of the game. They failed to win a single game in 2022 in Tests. Recently, Shoaib Akhtar has been in the headlines as he made some huge remarks regarding Babar. He said that the Pakistan skipper can not speak well.
While speaking on a local news channel, Akhtar said: “Babar Azam can become the greatest batter in history if he brings improvement in his batting strike rate. There is no superstar in Pakistan Cricket Team right now because they cannot speak on camera. If a cricketer can’t speak on camera then how will he be able to perform on the ground.”

Now, while speaking on a local TV channel, the former pacer said that Shadab Khan can be the new skipper for Pakistan. He claimed that the all-rounder has improved as a cricketer and is very cautious about his on-screen image. “Shadab is a very smart kid when it comes to cricket skills. He wants to improve, which is a very good thing. He is ready to accept his mistakes and rectify them. In the past two years, he has worked really hard on his bowling and his fitness has improved as well,” Akhtar said.
Shoaib Akhtar added: “He is also very vigilant when it comes to managing his career. He wants to look good and speaks well. In times to come, he is not a bad option for captaincy for Pakistan in white-ball cricket.”
“Shadab is a great captain and the future of Pakistan cricket. I think Shadab is an aggressive captain with a balanced team, a great batting line-up and a great attitude. Shadab and Azhar Mahmood’s as coach are looking great and they can win the PSL 8 trophy,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded. Currently, Shadab Khan is the skipper of Islamabad United in the ongoing PSL. They are in the second spot at the table with six points in four games. But, fans did not like the statement so much as they slammed the former Pakistan pacer on the social media platform.
