Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was clicked engaging in the flood relief operations in the affected areas of Punjab. In a video, the 43-year-old was seen helping unload sand bags from a truck, wrongly labelled as food grains by many on social media. He also took a survey of the flooded areas and was accompanied by Aam Aadmi Party leader Balbir Singh Seechewal in the operations.

This is not the first time Harbhajan Singh has indulged himself in charitable works. Earlier, during the COVID break, he had paired up with Pakistan great Shahid Afridi for relief operations. Along with his wife Geeta Basra, he had earlier pledged to distribute ration among 5000 families.

Harbhajan Singh voiced his concern over the situation in Manipur

Harbhajan Singh also shared his voice on the recent situation in Manipur. "If I say I am angry, it's an understatement. I am numb with rage. I am ashamed today after what happened in Manipur. If the perpetrators of this ghastly crime aren't brought to the book and handed capital punishment, we should stop calling ourselves human. It makes me sick that this has happened. Enough is Enough. Govt MUST act," he twitted.

He recently shared in an interview that he has no reason to state why players who played in the World Cup-winning 2011 squad never played together for India again. “This I don’t know that. They were probably used till the World Cup only and it’s a mystery for me too why that team never played again even for a match, very surprising. I hope I wish things could be rectified. It will be nice if we come together and play. It will be great fun but very unfortunate that the team didn’t assemble again and didn’t play another tournament or even a match,” he said to News 24.

“It is beyond my understanding that the team was considered good till winning the 2011 World Cup but suddenly so many changes in that team after that. People who were winning games were no more good. There were some players in that team for whom it seemed like it was their last World Cup but there were few players who could have played. We could have played more - me, Yuvi, Gautam, several players could have played more. But let’s not talk about it, it’s all gone,” he added.
