Chennai Super Kings (CSK) convincingly registered their 4th win of the Indian Premier League 2023 as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, April 21. Ravindra Jadeja was named Player of the Match for taking 3 wickets in 4 overs.

Meanwhile, CSK skipper and former legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni was in a mood to have fun when he came to talk in the post-match presentation with Harsha Bhogle. Dhoni expressed his disappointment at not being given the Catch of the Match award for taking Aiden Markram's catch in CSK's easy victory, however, it was quite evident that he said this jokingly.

"Still, they didn't give me the best catch. I felt it was a fantastic catch. I was in such a wrong position. Just because we wear gloves, people think it's easy. A long time back I still remember one game - Rahul Dravid was keeping and he caught one like that. 

With your skill set, you can't take a catch like that. You have to be in a very wrong position to be able to take that kind of a catch. Once you get old, that's the only time you get experience. Unless you're Sachin paaji and start playing at 16-17.”

Bhogle interrupted the wicketkeeper-batter here and said, “You’re not really old”, to which Dhoni replied, “Definitely old, can't shy away from that.” Dhoni said in the post-match conference.

Dhoni also talked about the talented Sri Lankan bowler Matheesha Pathirana and praised him for bowing well in the death overs from the last two matches. Pathirana bowled brilliantly against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match when the team needed the most.

"I was hesitant to bat second because I had that feeling there won't be a lot of dew. When there are chances dew, you have to bat second. Spinners once they came in, bowled a very good length. Fast bowlers once they came back, especially Pathirana, bowled superbly," he said.

"I always tell them that the first preference of field setting is with you. I give them suggestions based on the batter and tell them if I feel something won't work. They are executing their plans well," he added.
