Speaking of the match between Maharashtra and UP so far, Batting first, Maharashtra posted a big total of 330 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 50 overs, thanks to the brilliant double century from the skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad himself. Other than him, middle-order batters, Ankit Bawne and Azim Kazi played the individual knocks of 37 runs each.
While chasing the target of 331 runs in 50 overs, Uttar Pradesh lost all their wickets only 272 runs in 47.4 overs and fell 59 runs short of the target.
Eventually, Maharashtra won the match by 58 runs and Gaikwad ended up as the player of the match for his match-defining knock. Opening batter Aryan Juyal's centurion knocked off 159 runs off 143 balls with 18 boundaries and three sixes to his name. Although his efforts went in vain as Rajvardhan Hangargerkar scalped five wickets by conceding just 53 runs in 10 overs.
