Imad Wasim is currently gearing up for the upcoming home five-match T20I series against New Zealand for Pakistan. In the recently concluded T20I series against Afghanistan, he made a comeback after getting dropped from the post 20-20 World Cup in 2021. Recently, he had a great PSL season with the bat.

Hence, his form did not go unnoticed and he got the chance in the T20I series against the Afghans. In that series, he scored 95 runs and took two wickets in three matches. But, now, ahead of the series against the Kiwis, Imad Wasim came up with a bold statement against the PCB.

“I am at that stage of my career that I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again” - Imad Wasim

He said that he will take professional action if he gets dropped from the Pakistan Cricket Team without any reason in the near future. While talking to a local TV channel, Imad Wasim threatened the Pakistan selectors and said: “They never told the reason behind keeping me away from the national team for last one and a half year. I won’t let this happen again. My actions will be more important this time around. I am at that stage of my career that I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again”.

The all-rounder also added that he didn’t suffer any financial loss from being away from the national team. “I never suffered any financial loss while I was away from the team. In fact, I earned ten times more than what I would have earned while playing for Pakistan. I am confident in my abilities. If I was that bowler who is said to be dependent on the conditions then 20-20 leagues of Australia and South Africa would have not signed me,” Imad Wasim concluded. In PSL 8, Imad was the highest run-scorer for Karachi Kings. He scored 404 runs in 10 matches, at an average of 134.66. With the ball, he was also the joint-highest wicket-taker picking up nine wickets.
