Dewald Brevis is playing for CSK and not RCB, that is a shame: AB de Villiers

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter AB de Villiers has opened up on the next 360-degree player, Dewald Brevis, who is nicknamed as baby AB de Villiers by the cricketing fraternity.

Notably, AB led the South Africa Champions to a title victory in the second season of the World Championship of Legends on Saturday, August 2. He stated that he would have loved to see Brevis playing for the RCB franchise instead of CSK in the IPL.

"From South Africa, I would say Dewald Brevis (who could become the next 360-degree player in the game). Yeah, he has the Number 17 on the back. He plays a similar kind of cricket. He is very attacking and still has a lot to learn. He is playing for CSK and not RCB, that is a shame," AB told YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra.

It's important to note that Brevis could play only nine international games for the national team so far, including two Tests and seven T20Is. His most recent international outing came against New Zealand in the T20I tri-series final in Zimbabwe.

In two Tests, Brevis has accumulated 84 runs in three innings at an average of 28 with a half-century. On the other hand, he scored 138 runs in seven T20Is at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 176.92.

In the recently concluded T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand, Brevis emerged as the leading run-scorer for his team, amassing 133 runs from five innings at an average of 33.25. 

He played a crucial knock of 31 runs in 16 balls with a four and three sixes at a strike rate of 193.75 as South Africa edged past New Zealand by three runs in the grand finale of the T20I tri-series.
