But, for the World Cup, he has been selected and now, all eyes will be on 11 October when Team India will take on Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup in Delhi. Naveen hit the headlines in the IPL 2023 with his ugly verbal spat with Virat Kohli during the LSG vs RCB clash in Lucknow. Due to that, Kohli was fined 100% of his match fees while Naveen was fined 50% of his match fees. After that, both of them indirectly took a dig at each other with some posts on Instagram stories. So, fans will be eager to see how these two will play against each other at the mega event.

Naveen-ul-Haq last played in an ODI in January 2021

Speaking of Naveen’s career in ODIs, he has played seven matches so far. In those matches, he has taken 14 wickets, at an economy of 5.78. His last ODI match was in January 2021 against Ireland in Abu Dhabi. Speaking of the squad, Hashmatullah Shahidi will be the skipper as he led the team in the Asia Cup  2023.
