DC vs LSG Weather report at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam

Another exciting edition of the Indian Premier League is here and the fourth game of the season is scheduled between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants at a neutral venue in Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on March 24.

Delhi as well as Lucknow had a similar last season where they won both seven of their fourteen games and finished at sixth and seventh position respectively, hence, not qualifying for the playoffs. As a result, both these teams made quite a lot of changes ahead of the mega auctions for IPL 2025.

Delhi Capitals retained just four of their players in Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs while Lucknow Super Giants did a similar thing where they retained Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan. Another similarity between the two teams is that they both had to let go of their skipper. Rishabh Pant will be leading LSG this season while Axar Patel will be seen handling the leadership duties for DC.

Delhi Capitals remained an underrated team at the auction table. They did not gather much attention but have assembled quite a strong side with the inclusion of the likes of Mitchell Starc, KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mohit Sharma and T Natarajan. They have a potent batting as well as bowling line-up.

Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, is battling injuries now after making a decent squad at the auction table. Mohsin has been ruled out for the season while Mayank has been ruled out for a few games at the start so far. They will have to think hard and make use of their back-ups well to adjust to the game requirements.

Though dew at night occasionally tips the scales, this pitch is helpful to spinners since the ball stays low, making hitting in the second innings more difficult. However, the last several games played here have seen huge scores and great conditions for the hitters.

There may be a delay in the start of the game due to the partly cloudy weather in Visakhapatnam in the afternoon but would not affect the match as such. The temperature is expected to stay near 27 degrees with 65% humidity. A slight breeze may ease out the heat a little in the evening.
