DC Playing XI, IPL 2025: Best probable playing XI of Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals will be eyeing their maiden IPL triumph next season having restructured their team by releasing Rishabh Pant, their skipper. However, they managed to retain Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, Kuldeep Yadav, and Abishek Porel and secured the services of KL Rahul in the mega auction who is most likely to be their captain in IPL 2025. Let us have a look at Delhi Capitals’ probable playing XI:

There is a bit of a conundrum for Delhi Capitals at the top of the order but to start with, KL Rahul is likely to open the innings and his partner will most likely be Jake Fraser-McGurk, given the kind of knocks he played last season, Faf du Plessis is another opening batter they have in their squad who might come into the picture later in the season.

Harry Brook, Karun Nair, and Tristan Stubbs will form a strong middle-order for the Capitals. Brook is one of the best England batters in the last couple of years across formats. He is unstoppable once he starts hitting the ball and the same is the case with Stubbs of South Africa. Nair could be the weakest among them but he has experience and if not him, Sameer Rizvi could be the other player in their middle-order.

Ashutosh Sharma shined as a finisher last season and the Capitals picked him at the auction just to play this role efficiently. He will have Axar Patel to assist him in batting at number seven. Axar’s ability to bat up the order in times of need makes him a special player and add to it, his four overs with the ball and he is certainly a brilliant all-rounder to have for any team.

Mitchell Starc, Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma form the pace attack of the Capitals’ best-playing XI while Kuldeep Yadav will take care of spin bowling. DC have a number of all-rounders in their squad and they might get a look-in at some stage but this looks like the best XI to start with for them.
