Malan is also the icon player of the franchise as he replaces Thisara Perera who didn’t get the No Objection Certificate (NOC), from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) from the tournament. The Pune Devils will make its debut in the T10 League as the Karnataka Tuskers owners rebranded the franchise.

Malan is coming off a decent season at the Big Bash League (BBL) for the Hobart Hurricanes and recently scored 75 runs as well. He will be looking forward to setting the stage on fire for the Devils in this season of T10 League whenever he is available. For now, he will miss the first game.

Interestingly, this is the third team for Dawid Malan in T10 League. He has played for Sindhis and Qalandars in the 2018 and 2019 editions respectively. The southpaw didn’t have a great time with the Sindhis but while leading the Qalandars, Malan scored 175 runs in nine matches and the team finished third in the tournament.

Pune Devils will also be hoping that Malan finds his groove in the T10 League and leads them to the title. Apart from Malan, the Devils boasts of some of the finest international players like Pakistan's fast bowler Mohammad Amir, South African speedster Hardus Viljoen, West Indian star Chadwick Walton, among others.
