It is important to note that the upcoming five-match Test series is set to be a part of the new World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. Furthermore, Steyn asserted that fans might expect a lot of close matches, but there will be no drawn games.

“All games will be close. But all will have a result. I think it will be 3-2 in favour of England. There will be a result in every Test match. There will be no runaway win for any team, all five games will be very close,” Steyn said on JioHotstar.

With the veteran duo Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma bidding adieu to the longest format of the game, the BCCI selection committee has announced Shubman Gill as the new Indian Test captain, with Rishabh Pant being the vice-captain for the five-match overseas tour.
