Commonwealth Games 2022 are set to start at the end of this month from July 28. Women’s T20 cricket will be a new attraction in games at Birmingham. Cricket is being introduced in the commonwealth games after a long wait of 24 years. The last time when cricket was played in the Commonwealth Games in Malaysia was back in 1998.

This time, women’s cricket has been introduced into the event. The Indian team will also take part in the CWG 2022 under the leadership of senior player Harmanpreet Kaur. The Indian team will begin their campaign against Australia in the opening contest of the tournament.

The hosts England will play their first match of the tournament against the Sri Lanka Women’s team.
