They both hold the most number of trophies in the tournament’s history, five each and are the most successful teams in the tournament. The clashes between these two teams are equally huge and keep the audience on their toes.

As expected from them, they have kept their core intact with Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube and Matheesha Pathirana as retentions for CSK while Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma as the retentions for MI before the mega auctions for IPL 2025. 

After a not so great season for CSK as well as MI the previous year, they are set to continue with the leadership roles in Ruturaj Gaikwad and Hardik Pandya, putting their faith on them.

The Super Kings were successful in bringing back most of their usual picks in Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Ravichandran Ashwin and Sam Curran while also getting some important picks to fill out the holes they had in their squad. The Indians were one of the best teams at the auction table as they have picked players for every role and look solid.

Early on in the match, the temperature is expected to be around 30 degrees, which might gradually cool down later on. With fair skies, there are no predictions of a significant rain threat on the match and an 11.9 km/h wind speed will bring some relief from the heat.
