Caribbean Premier League, which conducts its T20 tournament in the West Indies across six regions, has now launched its T10 edition. The T10 version will start on August 24 and conclude on 28th in St. Kitts right before the CPL T20 tournament. The version is called 'The Sixty' as it has different rules compared to cricket rules set by the MCC.

The teams will have six wickets each compared to 10 in a normal game. Teams normally get a two-over powerplay but here it will be a three-over powerplay. The team will get one extra over of the powerplay if they hit two sixes in the mandatory two overs of powerplay. Another rule change is the changing of ends after every over.

Generally, bowlers bowl from different ends after every over. Here, they will bowl from the same end for the first five overs. The bowling end will change before the sixth over. The next rule is an interesting one. The removal of one fielder has already been introduced in T20 internationals. In other words, if teams are unable to bowl 10 overs on time, one fielder will be removed.

However, there is only one difference. The rule in International cricket states that the fielding team will have to bring one more fielder inside the 30-yard circle if they are not able to bowl their full quota of over on time. Here, the team would have to field with 10 players, which means the fielder will be removed altogether.

The last rule is a rather interesting one. The fans will be able to vote for 'mystery free hit' via the official app of the 'The Sixty' or the website. After the launch, the cricket fans are apparently upset with the launch of the new format. They feel that the game is in danger and have asked the World Cricket Governing Council to look into the matter. When 'The Hundred' was launched, the fans weren't happy as well.
