India and Bangladesh locked horns in the second of the three-match ODI series. The hostsโ skipper Litton Das won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first. Batting first, Bangladesh posted a total of 271 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. Although the Bangladeshi team was once struggling on the score of 69 runs after losing six wickets.
But the brilliant 148 runs stand for the seventh wicket between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudulla helped the hosts to post a decent total of 271 runs in the allotted 50 overs.
Speaking from the Indian perspective, the vice-captain KL Rahul was leading the team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. It happened when Rohit was forced to leave the ground due to an injury to his thumb.
The poor performance of the bowlers and strange captaincy tactics left KL Rahul on the receiving end of hard and fast-lined criticism from Indian cricket fans. They took to Twitter for criticizing the Karnataka batter.

Speaking of the match, riding on the brilliant century of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh managed to recover from the misery of early collapse to a decent total. Mehidy scored 100 runs off 83 balls with eight boundaries and four sixes to his name. Other than him, the senior all-rounder Mahmudullah also played a knock of 77 runs off 96 balls with seven boundaries.
On the back of these two knocks, Bangladesh posted a total of 271 runs for the loss of seven wickets at the end of the first innings. Washington Sundar ended up as the leading wicket-taker for India in the match as he scalped three wickets by conceding 37 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
While chasing the target, India could score only 266 runs for the loss of nine wickets and lost the match by six runs. Shreyas Iyer and Rohit Sharmaโs half-century went in vain as Mehidy Hasan delivered an all-round performance for his team both with the bat and the ball. He also won the โplayer of the match award for his match-winning performance.
