'Chokli'- Fans in total dismay as Virat Kohli departs early against Bangladesh in first ODI

The fans expected Virat Kohli to do well against Bangladesh as well, but he did not deliver in the first ODI match.

Virat Kohli came into the Bangladesh series on the back of his red-hot form in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The star batter was the highest run-getter in the all-important event in Australia, and the fans expected him to do well against Bangladesh as well. However, the 34-year-old did not have the best start to the series in the first ODI match.

Shikhar Dhawan's early departure caused the former Indian captain to walk early into the batting order. He got off to a rough start, scoring just nine runs off of the 15 balls he faced while only hitting one four. He was dismissed by Bangladesh Skipper Shakib Al Hasan in the 11th over of the game.

To grab this out of the air, Litton Das dove fully to his right. When he saw that fielding play, Virat Kohli was in a state of disbelief. For the first time in the over, Shakib bowled an off-stump delivery that was full and wide. Virat appeared to be surprised by the wider line and he drove hard with one hand. He Got fooled by the flight, lost control of the shot, and Bangladesh's captain contributed with the excellent wicket.

Earlier in the game, Dhawan and captain Rohit Sharma also departed early without contributing much to the total. Dhawan was dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the sixth over, while Shakib dismissed Rohit two balls before he took Virat's wicket.

The trouble continued for India with the wicket of Shreyas Iyer after a while. He was dismissed for a team score of 92 runs in 20 vers.

In the meantime, fans were disappointed with Virat Kohli's performance in the match. They took to Twitter to express their displeasure. "Bhai bohot ho gaya unconditional support, really disappointing to see #TeamIndia play the way they are playing!" an angry fan wrote. 

"How many of you switched your TVs off after Rohit and Kohli got out and you realised there’s no SKY, Pandya & Pant in the squad??!!" another one said.
