On 11 June 2023, all fans were hoping for an enthralling day five in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) as India needed 280 runs with seven wickets in hand. Both Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were the overnight batters. These batters finished day three strongly and fans were hoping for a miracle from them.

However, they began the first session cautiously but Kohli just added five runs before getting out to Scott Boland. He edged a delivery while going for a drive outside of the off-stump. Steve Smith did not make any mistake at the slips as he dived and completed a top-notch catch. Thus, Kohli scored 49 runs off 78 balls, including seven fours. Seeing that dismissal, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Virat Kohli again fell into the trap of a delivery outside of the off-stump while going for a drive 

Speaking of the match, Australia declared their second innings on day four with a score of 270 runs for eight wickets. Then, they set a huge target of 444 runs for the Men in Blue to win this ultimate Test. However, both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill gave a solid start. Then, Gill departed after scoring 18 runs off 19 balls. Then, Rohit was looking good with some splendid shots. But, finally, he got out to Nathan Lyon after scoring 43 runs off 60 balls, including seven fours and one six. Cheteshwar Pujara disappointed his team and fans again as he got out after scoring 27 runs off 47 balls.

Then, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane made sure that the Men in Blue did not lose any more wickets. They put up an unbeaten partnership of 71 runs and saw off the day. Kohli was on 44* runs while Rahane was on 20* runs. So, fans were hoping to see them scoring flawlessly again in the opening session. But, Kohli failed as India lost their fourth wicket on 179 runs in the 47th over.
