According to the reports, Chennai player Devon Conway has left the bio-bubble for his wedding. Conway has flown to South Africa and will remain unavailable for selection for at least a week. On April 19, the left-hander threw a pre-wedding bash while wearing a traditional Tamil Attire. The pictures of the event were uploaded by the franchise on their official Twitter account.
Players such as MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, and head coach Stephen Fleming attended the event. Conway has left the bubble ahead of his sides' next game against Mumbai, which will be played on April 21. As the left-hander has left for South Africa, he will be able to rejoin the team only if he undergoes another three-day quarantine.
According to the rules, an overseas player has to go through a hard quarantine, and return with negative COVID19 tests to join their team. During his hiatus, the team will play Punjab on April 25 and their next game after that will be against Hyderabad on May 1. The South Africa-born player is certain to miss the Punjab game.
However, it is yet to be seen if will play the game against Hyderabad. Meanwhile, he has played only one game in the season so far. That game was against Kolkata where he could only score three runs. After that game, he hasn't got any opportunity to feature in the playing XI. Talking about the teams' performance, they have lost five out of their six games so far.
Talking about Conway, he was born in Johannesburg in South Africa. He was playing domestic cricket in his home country. A few years ago, he shifted his base in New Zealand and grinded hard in their domestic arena. Last year, he made his international debut in an ODI against Bangladesh at home. A few months later, he made his Test debut against England in England. The ongoing Indian T20 League 2022 is his first taste of the cash-rich league.
