On 27 February 2023, Lahore Qalandars took on Islamabad United in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). It was the 16th match of the tournament that took place in Lahore. Both teams were looking for a win to strengthen their position at the top of the table. Speaking of the match, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to bat first.

For the home side, Mirza Baig and Fakhar Zaman came out to open the innings. Both openers gave a good start as they lost their first wicket after putting up a 58-run stand in 6.2 overs. Fakhar Zaman scored 36 runs off 23 balls, including five fours and one six. Baig scored just 20 runs off 17 balls, including two fours and one six.

Meanwhile, Abdullah Shafique was the highest run-scorer for them as he scored 45 runs off 24 balls. He managed to hit four boundaries and two sixes. Finally, they scored 200 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. For Islamabad United, Tom Curran took three wickets while Shadab Khan took two wickets. Apart from them, Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Ali took one wicket each. But, in reply, the batters of Islamabad United failed miserably ass they got bundled out for just 90 runs in 13.5 overs. David Wiese was the star with the ball as he took three wickets for 17 runs in three overs.

Wiese also won the player of the match award for his overall performance. Apart from taking those three wickets, he scored 12 runs off just six balls. But, during the match, an incident took place between Shadab Khan and his Pakistan teammate Haris Rauf. The pacer was seen teasing the Pakistan spinner while he was going back to the dugout after scoring just four runs off six balls. The video went viral instantly as some fans found the behavior from the pacer very unprofessional. They also slammed him on the social media platform and came up with some funny tweets.
