Who won yesterday's game between India vs Australia?

The Dubai International Stadium set the stage for the first semifinal of the Champions Trophy, where India rose to the occasion with a four-wicket win over Australia. Virat Kohli's match-winning knock of 84 earned him the Player of the Match award as he guided India to a successful chase of 265.

After winning the toss, Australian skipper Steve Smith chose to bat first. Australia made two changes, bringing in Tanveer Sangha and Cooper Connolly, while India remained unchanged. Connolly opened the innings with Travis Head but lasted just nine balls before falling for a duck to Mohammed Shami.

Head looked dangerous with some attacking shots but was dismissed for 39 (33) by Varun Chakravarthy. Smith and Marnus Labuschagne then added 56 runs for the third wicket before Labuschagne departed for 29 (36). Josh Inglis struggled during his 11-run stay, but Alex Carey counter-attacked with a brisk 61 off 57 balls.

Smith played a steady knock of 73 but fell to Shami in the 37th over, triggering a collapse. Australia lost their last six wickets for just 66 runs and were bowled out for 264 in 49.3 overs. For India, Shami took three wickets, while Varun and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two each. Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya chipped in with one wicket each.

Kohli looked set for another ODI chase-masterclass century, but Adam Zampa dismissed him for 84. However, Hardik Pandya's 28 off 24 and KL Rahul’s unbeaten 42 off 34 guided India home with 11 balls to spare.

For Australia, Zampa and Nathan Ellis took two wickets each, while Ben Dwarshuis and Connolly grabbed one each. India will now play the final at the same venue on 9 March against the winner of the second semi final between South Africa and New Zealand, set to take place tomorrow in Lahore.
