The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 19 to March 9, will feature eight of the world's top cricket nations competing for the prized trophy.
The Champions Trophy 2025, to be held in a 50-over-per-side One Day International (ODI) format, will be Pakistan's first major global cricket competition since the ODI World Cup in 1996. Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore will host the Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Pakistan, while Dubai will host the India matches and semi-finals and possibly the final in the UAE.
The ICC Champions Trophy's ninth edition will feature 15 matches between the eight best-placed countries from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, including hosts Pakistan.
Today we will check out all the eight squads of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 participating teams and rank them according to the best squad as per conditions in the venues they will play.
Here are the rankings of all the squads of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025
1. India Champions Trophy 2025 squad - 9/10
The Indian squad is very much balanced according to the venue they will play their matches in. Dubai’s Dubai International Cricket Stadium will host all of India’s matches, including a semi-final, and if India qualifies for the final, that match as well.
India has decided to fill their squad with four spinners given the slow track Dubai possesses, and surprisingly, except for Kuldeep Yadav, the other three spinners can bat as well. However, they are still fretting over the form of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and the fitness of Jasprit Bumrah as well.
India cricket team: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami
2. New Zealand Champions Trophy 2025 squad - 8/10
New Zealand is placed with India in Group A and will play matches in both Dubai and Pakistan. Like India, New Zealand also has batters who can play spin well given the conditions in both venues. Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, Tom Latham, and Daryl Mitchell are all good players of spin.
They have also included spinners who can bat like Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra along with Glenn Phillips. Their pacer attack will be led by Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson.

3. Afghanistan Champions Trophy 2025 squad - 7/10
Afghanistan has a tailor-made squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as they will play all of their matches in Pakistan. Hashmatullah Shahidi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will lead the Atalans’ batting department with Rahmat Shah and Mohammad Nabi in supporting roles.
In the bowling department, Rashid Khan and Fazalhaq Farooqi will lead the way with Allah Ghazanfar for support. Gulbadin Naib and Azmatullah Omarzai will provide the all-round skills.

4. Australia Champions Trophy 2025 squad - 7/10
The Australian squad has been hit huge by the absence of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Cameron Green, Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis. While Stoinis has retired from ODIs, the remaining three are injured and will not play in the CT 2025.
This leaves Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, and Adam Zampa to do the heavy lifting when it comes to batting and bowling. They have apt replacements in Josh Inglis, Nathan Ellis, and Matthew Short to make up for the losses.
Australia cricket team: Alex Carey (wicketkeeper), Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Matthew Short, Steven Smith, Aaron Hardie, Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Ellis, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa
5. Bangladesh Champions Trophy 2025 squad: 6/10
Bangladesh has taken a safe route and chosen the best possible squad they have for the tournament. Big names like Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal retired from the game and hence Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side. He will be aided by Soumay Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and Taskin Ahmed.
They are also exciting talents like Jaker Ali, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana, and Rishad Hossain to bolster their chances of winning the tournament. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah will provide the experience to guide the youngsters.
Bangladesh cricket team: Nazmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Soumya Sarkar, Tanzid Hasan, Tawhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Parvez Hossain Emon, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana
6. England Champions Trophy 2025 squad: 6/10
England has the same squad that is currently playing India in the ODI series. Jos Buttler leads the side with Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, and Phil Salt leading the way in the batting department. They also have Harry Brook, Jamie Smith, and Jacob Bethell as exciting talents.
Their bowling has one flaw, though, with Adil Rashid being the only specialist spinner, with Liam Livingstone and Root for assistance. They have Jofra Archer and Mark Wood for extreme pace, while Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, and Saqib Mahmood will provide the guile and lower-order batting hitting.

7. Pakistan Champions Trophy 2025 squad: 6/10
Pakistan will be hosting its first ICC tournament since 1996 and has chosen a pretty confusing squad. They have the best batting prowess in Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, and others.
But the bewildering thing is, despite being the hosts, Pakistan has only one specialist spinner Abrar Ahmed in their squad. Salman Ali, Khushdil Shah, and Saud Shakeel will be the other spin options. Pace bowling will be led by Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Hasnain, with surprise pick Faheem Ashraf for the company.
Pakistan cricket team: Mohammad Rizwan (captain), Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain), Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saud Shakeel, Kamran Ghulam, Khushdil Shah, Tayyab Tahir, Usman Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Hasnain, and Abrar Ahmed.
8. South Africa Champions Trophy 2025 squad: 5.5/10
South Africa has perhaps the weakest squad in terms of bowling for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They have lost the services of Gerald Coetzee and Anrich Nortje before the start, and their spin options only rest on Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi.
However, Proteas' batting strength saves them with Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, and Rassie van der Dussen leading the way. Temba Bavuma will be the anchor with Marco Jansen and Tony de Zorzi playing aggressively. Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi will lead their pace attack with Wiaan Mulder and Jansen for company.
South Africa cricket team: Temba Bavuma (captain), Tony de Zorzi, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tabraiz Shamsi, Tristan Stubbs, Rassie van der Dussen.
