Sanju Samson is currently gearing up for the upcoming Indian T20 League in 2023. He will lead the Rajasthan franchise once again. In the last edition, he led the team into the final but failed to cross the final line as the Gujarat franchise defeated them. So, the Rajasthan franchise’s fans will hope for a better performance from them this time around.

But, Sanju Samson getting lack of chances in team India has become the talk of the town. He last played for the Men in Blue on 3 January 2023 against Sri Lanka. In that match, he scored just five runs. But, on the field, Samson got injured and got ruled out of the rest of the home series.

Sanju Samson scored 284 runs at an average of 71 in 10 ODIs in 2022

Currently, he is all fit and ready to go. Shreyas Iyer got ruled out for the recent ODI series at home against Australia. So, fans were expecting that they can see Sanju Samson in the squad. But, the selectors did not make any replacements. Speaking about his career so far, Samson has played 10 ODI innings and scored 330 runs, at an average of 66. Speaking about the shortest format of the game, he has played 16 T20I innings and scored 301 runs. In 2022, he played 10 ODIs and scored 284 runs, at a staggering average of 71.

Now, ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023, good news came up for Samson and his fans. The star wicketkeeper batter got inducted in Grade C of the annual contracts of the Indian Cricket Board. So, now, Samson will get INR 1 Cr as an annual salary for all the matches in the 2022-23 season. Seeing that fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform. Some fans were happy to see that finally, the Board giving attention to the talented player he deserves. However, some fans are still wary that despite getting such a  contract, still, the team might neglect him in the playing XIs.
