The Asian Games 2023 is all set to take place in Hangzhou, the People's Republic of China from 23 September to 8 October. However, Men’s cricket event will happen in a 20-20 format. All the matches will be played at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field. Now, an image of that venue has gone viral and fans shared their views.

The stadium is China’s largest cricket ground with a capacity of 12000 people. Till now, seven matches have been played at this venue while four have been won by teams batting first and three have been won by teams chasing. The average first innings score at this venue has been 99 runs while in the second innings, it has been 78 runs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead Team India in Asian Games 2023

The Indian Cricket Board already announced the squad of both Men’s and Women’s teams for this tournament. Veteran batter, Shikhar Dhawan failed to get a spot while Ruturaj Gaikwad was named as the skipper. However, a second-string team are set to travel as the ODI World Cup is all set to begin on 5 November in India. Hence, senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will not be available.

Young players like Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jitesh Sharma and many others have been included. However, this will be the second time only when Team India will be in action in a multi-sport tournament. They played the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur in a 50-over format. While in the history of the Asian Games, Cricket was played in Guangzhou in 2010 and in Incheon in 2014.
