ted The senior Pakistan opener and newly appointed vice-captain Shan Masood was in the headlines of social media as the management omitted him from the playing XI of the second of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Notably, he was appointed as the vice-captain of the team as well but couldn’t make it to the playing XI.
Although, he made his ODI comeback in the ongoing three-match ODI series against New Zealand. Notably, he appeared for the first time in 50-overs cricket since his last appearance for the men in green in the Dubai ODI against Australia almost four years back in the year 2019.
But the ODI comeback didn’t go up to the expectations in the last Karachi ODI of the series against the Blackcaps. The 33-year-old could survive only for two balls and got caught behind by Tom Latham off Lockie Ferguson on the last ball of the second over in the first innings.
The Pakistan cricket fans didn’t make it too late in taking to Twitter and trolling Shan Masood mercilessly. The fans also questioned his position in the team as the vice-captain.
Here’s how fans reacted:

Another opportunity wasted by Shan. He surely is a good player but he shouldn’t have undue pressure of vc or captaincy.1st he needs to prove himself as a decent performer or atleast half of what babar is and then we should think of giving him leadership role #PakvsNZ #shanmasood
