Sadly, he dozed off while driving and it led to his car ramming into the divider on the Delhi-Uttarakhand highway.

It didn’t take a lot of time for the car to catch fire. However, Pant safely got out of the car in time. A driver, named Susheel Kumar, was present at the moment and immediately rushed to the spot and helped Pant escape the burning car.

Sushil Mann narrated the entire incident which took place in the morning hours. Here’s what he told NTDV:

"I put my bus on the side and quickly ran towards the divider. I thought the car would flip under the bus as it was turning over and over before it stopped. The driver (Mr Pant) was half out of the window. He told me he's a cricketer."

"I don't watch cricket and I didn't know this is Rishabh Pant. But others in my bus recognized him. After removing Rishabh, I quickly searched the car to check if anyone else was there. I took out his blue bag and ₹7,000-8,000 from the car and gave it to him in the ambulance." He was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Earlier, the Indian Cricket Board issued a statement on Twitter, providing an update on Rishabh Pant’s health condition to his fans.
