Former Pakistan skipper and all-rounder Shahid Afridi has stunned the entire cricketing fraternity with his controversial statement while talking about the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. The 20-20 World Cup winner all-rounder went on to accuse the governing body of cricket of being biased in the favour of the Indian team.

While justifying his statement, Afridi referred to a few of the incidents that happened of late in the matches of the Indian team with Bangladesh and earlier against the men in green.

. “You saw the ground how wet it was. But ICC is inclined toward India. They want to ensure India reaches the semi-finals at any cost. The umpires were also the same who officiated India vs Pakistan & will get the best umpire awards,” said Afridi in his statement.

“Given the amount of rain that happened, the game resumed immediately after the break. It is very evident that many things were involved, the ICC, India playing (the game), and the pressure that comes with it, there are many factors involved. But Litton’s batting was amazing. He played positive cricket. After six overs, we felt that if Bangladesh didn’t lose wickets for another 2-3 overs, they would have won the match. Overall, the fight shown by Bangladesh was brilliant,” he added further.

Although these comments from the former Pakistan veteran didn’t go down well with some of the cricket fans and they slammed Afridi for having made an unnecessary rant. They took to Twitter for lashing out at the latter for his controversial remarks on the apex council of cricket.

Speaking of the 20-20 World Cup, the Pakistani team has won two matches out of the four they played with two defeats against India and the minnows like Zimbabwe. On other hand, their neighbors, India have won three matches out of the four they played in the tournament so far.
