Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was widely appreciated for his kind gesture towards his English counterpart Joe Root where he was seen stretching Root’s leg to help him with the cramps. Praising Kohli, the ICC shared a post on their social media and called the act as heartwarming 'Spirit of Cricket' gesture. However, it seemed that the post has not got down well with English pacer Stuart Broad who took a cheeky dig at the apex body for their post. Replying to the ICC broad quoted “ ‘I ran a drink out too, spirit of cricket award?’

Stuard Broad, who has over 500 Test wickets is not the part of the first Test. He’s not been dropped but the English management keeps on rotating him and James Anderson to manage their work load. Talking about the match, England are in a commanding position after a brilliant double hundred from Joe Root. They ended the day’s play at 555-8. England need a 3-0 or 4-0 win over India if they are to qualify for the World Test Championship final at the Lords. Even though they’ve posted a mammoth total, the pitch is playing well and getting 20 Indian wickets won’t be easy. Joe Root has been in scintillting form of late and have three double tons and a magnificent 186 in his last three Test innings. He was England's highest run getter when the team last toured India. Along with Root, Ben Stokes and Dominic Sibley  also registered 50's in the match.
