In what can be called a major development, the BCCI is reportedly set to ban him for two years. According to a report by News 18, a three-member panel set up by BCCI found the sports journalist guilty of intimidating Saha. It is to be noted that the entire incident transpired on February 19, it was on that date when the Bengal cricketer Tweeted the screenshot.

“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket… this is what I face from a so-called ‘Respected’ journalist! This is where journalism has gone." read Wriddhiman Saha's Tweet. "You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this," read one of the chats from the screenshot. Post this, the entire cricketing fraternity came in support of Saha. Many fans started to troll Majumdar as well.

Thus, neither will he be allowed to enter stadiums in India, nor can he meet players. Further on, the India board is supposedly going to write to cricket's apex body to add him to the blacklist as well. The BCCI had formed a committee comprising vice-president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal and apex council member Prabhtej Bhatia to probe Saha's allegation.

“We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won’t be given media accreditation for home matches and we will also be writing to the governing body of cricket to blacklist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him,” said a top BCCI official on condition of anonymity.

Thus, it is yet to be seen if Majumdar does indeed get banned. In the meanwhile, Majumdar had claimed that Saha had doctored and tampered with the facts. In one of his Tweets, he had stated that he will be taking legal action as well.
