Melbourne Renegades will be up against Hobart Hurricanes in match 26 of the Big Bash League (BBL). The Renegades are languishing at the bottom of the points table, winning just one game and losing four. Meanwhile, Hurricanes are placed third, winning three and losing three. The Matthew Wade-led side would like to solidify their position at the top by winning the match against the out form of Renegades.
Not much has gone in favour of Renegades in the BBL 2021. They are coming off from a huge eight-wicket loss against Perth Scorchers. Their last victory came against Adelaide Strikers on December 7. Since then, they have lost four games. Barring the one loss against Scorchers, wherein they fell short of 21 runs, the rest of the losses have been by huge margins.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are coming off a resounding win against the Strikers. Ben McDermott’s unbeaten 110 was instrumental in the team chasing a steep target of 176. The Matthew Wade-led team have been fantastic this season with the bat. They have managed to post huge scores consistently. However, the team’s over-dependency at the top order has hurt them at times.
The Docklands pitch in Melbourne is a batting paradise. With short boundaries on either side, a high-scoring game is expected between both teams.
