Melbourne Stars will be up against Sydney Sixers in match 13th of the Big Bash League (BBL). After a shellacking against the same opponents in their first match, the Stars have got their campaign back on track with twin wins over Sydney Thunders.
Andre Russell’s inclusion has certainly lifted the morale of the team. In the last match, his unbeaten 43 helped Stars finish the run-chase of 152 with three overs to spare. The big-hitting all-rounder has also relieved some pressure off Glenn Maxwell. The bowlers have also done well to restrict the Thunders to a par score.
The Sixers started the tournament with a bang by beating Stars and Hobart Hurricanes. The defending champions however suffered a setback against the Hurricanes in the return game. The bowlers didn’t have an answer to Matthew Wade’s assault. Despite the loss, Sixers will go in the match with great confidence as the likes of Josh Philippe, James Vince and Moises Henriques have shown great form in the three games so far.
The match is going to be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The ground historically favours spinners. Pacers are expected to get some assistance in the first six overs. The average first innings score on this ground is 141
