Hobart Hurricanes are set to cross swords with Perth Scorchers in match 12 of the Big Bash League. Hurricanes are coming off from a thumping 44 runs victory over Sixers. Meanwhile, the Scorchers are placed second on the points table after winning back to back games against Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers.
Hurricanes will be high on confidence after a win in the last game. Their batting performed well in the match, with Matthew Wade leading the charge with 93 runs from just 46 balls that laid the foundation for an imposing total of 213-2. Later, the bowlers did well and restricted Sixers to 151-4.
The Scorchers, on the other hand, have been brilliant with the ball and restricted Strikers to 151 and 146 respectively. Jason Behrendorff has led from the front with four wickets from two games. With the willow, Colin Munro has looked lethal. He scored 114 runs off just 73 balls against Strikers and proved to be the difference between the teams. Munro’s explosive start at the top would be pivotal against the Hurricanes.
The match is going to be played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The surface is expected to play in favour of the batters with consistent pace and bounce.
