Rohit Sharma and his men were in action on 21 May 2023 when they took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ongoing IPL. It was a must-win clash for Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium to keep themselves alive in the race for the playoffs. However, they put up a great show by winning the clash by eight wickets.

But, after the match, their berth in the playoffs was still hanging on the result of the RCB vs GT clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. They were hoping for a loss of RCB over GT as that would ensure them a qualification for the playoffs. So, during the post-match presentation, Rohit came up with a cheeky request for RCB.

He said: “We came with the mindset to win and not worry what happens elsewhere. Just hoping for the best. I haven't spoken to anyone. Even if we don't go through, we got ourselves to blame. If we do, boys get credit. Last year, we did a great favour to RCB. We hope the result there goes our way. We didn't start well but fixed things along the way. If I have to look back, we lost crucial moments and games like against Punjab here and last game vs LSG. We can't look too much into that. Sometimes it doesn't come along which is fair.”

However, RCB suffered a six-wicket loss against GT and thus, MI got qualified for the playoffs. But, now a video has gone viral where Rohit was seen forgetting to remove the cap of a bottle while going to drink water during a match in IPL 2023. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared some funny views on social media. Now, MI will be in action against Luckow Super Giants (LSG) in the eliminator at Chepauk, Chennai on 24 May 2023.
