The star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav started the calendar year of 2023 from the same point from where he took a sabbatical last year in 2022. The 32-year-old went played a swashbuckling knock of 112 runs off just 51 balls seven boundaries and nine massive sixes to his name.
It was also the third T20I century for SKY in his international career which is yet to complete two years on the 14th of March two months later. World number one T20I batter is just a century away from equalizing the record of most T20I centuries with his fellow teammate and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma.
Overwhelmed with the blistering performance of Suryakumar Yadav, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir went on praise the former with a tweet in the aftermath of the brilliant knock against Sri Lanka.

Although this tweet from the 41-year-old didn’t go down well with a particular section of Indian Cricket Fans and they did not late in calling out him for ignoring the talents like Sarfaraz Khan. Fans also reminded to Gambhir of the many youngsters who are delivering their best in the First-Class circuit of Indian Cricket and are already in contention for a place in the Test team of India.

no, he is fine in t20 and ODI, dont put extra pressure on him...he needs more time to recover. we already have many player who are specially born to play test cricket😀. give chance to Sarfaraz khan,pujara is already got his form

Remarkably, Suryakumar Yadav ended up being the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded T20I series against the Islanders. He smashed 170 runs in three innings of the matches with an amazing average of 85.00 including an unbeaten century knock in the series decider at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Saturday, 8th of January.
