After a dismal World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at the Oval, India are now will be in action in a full-fledged tour in West Indies, There, they will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is. But, Rohit Sharma’s captaincy has been a concern in recent times among fans after seeing performances in major tournaments.
After the WTC final loss, India have now missed a third chance to win a major title under Rohit’s captaincy (20-20 World Cup 2022, Asia Cup 2022, and WTC 2023 final). But, now, ahead of the tour, the Team India skipper shared a post where he was seen promoting smartwatches. After seeing that, fans shared their views.
Here is the shared tweet:

“He has had a lot of success as a leader.” - Michael Clarke on Rohit Sharma
Speaking of the tweet, Rohit wrote: “#Ad Stay ahead of the game, always. #GoBeyondTime with Verve Smartwatches by @TAGGOfficial. #TAGG.” However, as an individual batter also, Rohit has been in poor form. He also had a disappointing IPL season for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2023. But, the former Aussie skipper recently urged Team India fans to keep faith in Rohit and back him for the upcoming tournaments.
While speaking to RevSportz, Clarke said: “I would be keeping the faith with Rohit. I think he is a very good captain. I like his aggressive approach, he looks to be as positive as he can be. He has had a lot of success as a leader. Look at his IPL record for Mumbai (Indians).”
“Just because India didn’t win the Test World Championship doesn’t mean Rohit is not the right guy to lead India. The fact that India qualified again, they are the only team to make consecutive finals, says a lot about how they have played their Test cricket over the past four years. It is also a very important time for stability with the One-Day World Cup right around the corner,” he further added. However, reports have also come out that Rohit might have a chat with the Board officials after the West Indies Tests series over his captaincy future in the longest format of the game.
Here is how fans have reacted:
