Team India finally managed a win in the third game of the ongoing five-match T20I series against West Indies and stayed alive in the series with two more matches to go. Suryakumar Yadav won the Player of the Match for his match-winning knock. However, Tilak Varma had another great outing as he remained not out on 49* runs while chasing the 160-run target.

They chased down the target in 17.5 overs. But after 17.4 overs, the Men in Blue needed just two runs off 14 balls when Tilak was on 49* runs and Hardik was on 14* runs. Team India skipper was on strike on the fifth delivery and fans were hoping for him to give the strike to the Southpaw batter to complete his fifty. But, he hit a six and finished the game in style. Seeing that, fans were not happy and slammed Pandya brutally on social media.

After the win, durong the post-match presentation, Pandya claimed that two wins or two losses here an there will not let their long term plan to be affected in the shortest format of the game. He said: “Very important. We spoke about that fact, that these games will be very important. We had to back ourselves. Two losses or two wins do not change things. We have a long-term plan and it was important we showed our character.”

Regarding his plan of using the spinners in the game, Hardik Pandya said: “There was no certain plans. We wanted to use them more with Nicky not coming in. Axar didn't bowl in the last match, but the way he bowled today, I could use Yuzi and Kuldeep later. Mukesh and Arshdeep ended well.”

He also shared his views on the match-winning stand between Suryakumar and Tilak. “Brilliant. Both of them play together and they understand each other. I am lucky to have someone like Surya, who likes such challenges. And he wants to take the responsibilities. He sends a lot of confidence within the group,” he concluded.
