On 16 June 2023, Sussex took on Hampshire at Hove in the ongoing Vitality Blast. Sussex were looking for their third win in the competition while Hampshire were looking for their sixth win of the season. Speaking of the match, Hampshire won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, Sussex managed a victory by six runs.

Bradley Currie won the Player of the Match award for taking three wickets for 27 runs. But, he made headlines by taking an outrageous catch in the match. The video went viral and seeing that, fans went crazy. They also shared their views while some of them claimed that to be the greatest of all time catches in the history of the game.

Speaking of the catch, it happened during the 19th over of Hampshire’s innings. On the second delivery of that over, Tymal Mills bowled a slot ball and Benny Howell tried to smoke it out of the park to the leg side. But, Currie was seen running towards the balls and attempted a full-stretched dive. His jump was so perfect that he managed to grab that ball with his left hand and managed to keep himself away from the boundary rope also. That catch left all the players and fans stunned.

Speaking of the match, while batting first, Sussex scored 183 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Oli Carter was the highest scorer with 64 runs off 33 balls, including six fours and four sixes. With the ball for Hampshire, John Turner and Howell took two wickets each. In reply, Hampshire scored 177 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs and fell short by six runs. Liam Dawson was the lone warrior for them as he scored 59 runs off 34 balls, including five fours and four sixes. For Sussex, Currie was the star of the show by taking three wickets for 27 runs in four overs.
