nother situation On 28 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were set to take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the ongoing IPL at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. But, ahead of the match, an image went viral as heavy rail delayed the toss for the final. Even the ceremony got paused for the rain.

Seeing that fans went crazy and shared their views. However, as per the speculations since the start of this season, this might be the last match for MS Dhoni in the tournament. So, fans were in a tricky position as the match could get washed out due to rain. However, still, a winner will be declared as per the rule of IPL.

29 May 2023 is the reserve day for IPL 2023 Final

According to the rule of IPL, there is a reserve day for the final if the match did not happen on 28 May. On 29 May, the match can happen. However, due to rain, there is a possibility of having a five-over match. If that also does not happen, then super over will be conducted. Another situation is if that is not possible also, then the match will go into the reserved day. If on that day also, the match gets failed to occur, then, GT will be declared the winner as they were above CSK in the group stage after 14 games. 

Meanwhile, if the game gets started on 28 May and then, gets stopped due to rain, then from that exact situation, the game will resume on 29 May. If after the toss, the match gets washed out then, against the toss will happen on 29 May and captains will be eligible to change their playing XI. Speaking of this rivalry, GT have the upper hand with three wins while CSK have won only once so far in four meetings. MS Dhoni and his men defeated GT in Chennai in qualifier one of this year’s IPL.
