The craze for MS Dhoni is never-ending in India. The World Cup-winning captain is all set to celebrate his 42nd Birthday on July 7, Friday. As such, his fans in Hyderabad have stuck to the traditional method of celebrating his birthday with a huge cutout of the cricketer. This time around, the reported height is 52 feet, if reports are to be believed.
This is far from being the first time that a cutout of MS Dhoni has been prepared by fans. There have been numerous instances of MS Dhoni’s fans clubs coming up with his cutouts from time to time on birthdays and to commemorate special occasions. As of now, the biggest achievement fresh in every Dhoni fan would be Chennai Super Kings’ triumph in IPL 2023. The latest win saw them equal Mumbai Indians’ record. Moreover, MS Dhoni showed no intent on retirement. He rather talked of how the more challenging thing for him would be to train harder and come back for another season.

“Looking for an answer? Circumstantially if you see this is the best time for me to announce retirement. But the amount of love and affection that I have been shown, wherever I have been this year…I think the easy thing for me to say would be to say ‘Thank you very much’, but the tough thing for me would be to work hard for nine months and come back and play at least one more season of IPL. But a lot depends on the body. It would take 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side. It’s not easy for me but the way they have shown their love and affection, that’s something that I need to do,” he said at the post-match presentation after winning IPL 2023 final against Gujarat Titans.
“My eyes were full of water, I needed to take some time off in the dugout. I realised I need to enjoy this. I think they love me for what I am, they love that I am so grounded, I don’t try to portray something I’m not. Just keep it simple. Every trophy is special, but what is special about IPL is every crunch game you need to be ready,” he added.
