Ben Stokes ruled out of IPL 2021 with a suspected broken hand - Reports

Rajasthan Royals have been dealt with a massive blow as their ace all-rounder Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League with a suspected broken hand. While featuring in RR’s first game against Kings XI Punjab, Stokes took an incredible catch of Chris Gayle. However, he injured himself while attempting the catch. Though Stokes was in a pain, he chose to ignore the same and continued to be on the field. However, the left-hander didn’t bowl after that.

The England star also opened the batting for Rajasthan but didn’t have an ideal outing as he marched back to the pavilion after scoring a three-ball duck. It is now suspected that the star player has broken his hand and will thus have to give the rest of IPL 2021 a miss.

As per the report published in the Independent, Stokes will remain in India for a week as he is expected to undergo X-rays and scans in the coming week to determine the severity of his injury. Meanwhile, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already connected with Rajasthan Royals to know the update regarding Ben Stokes.

It is a huge blow for Rajasthan as they are already missing the services of their speedster Jofra Archer, who has recently undergone surgery for an injury on his hand. ECB will also be stressed regarding the fitness of Stokes as they have a busy cricketing calendar ahead.
