Sri Lanka all-rounder, Thisara Perera has revealed his all-time T20 XI. Surprisingly, Perera has not selected any Sri Lankan in his team. T20 Cricket has become a much bigger format than it was when it started. A team might not excel in the Test format, but they make sure to be their best in T20 cricket. Today, everyone tries to be among the top players in this format, but the competition is extremely high.
Perera in his all-time T20 XI has Chris Gayle and Rohit Sharma as the openers, while Virat Kohli finds a spot at number three. AB de Villiers, David Miller and MS Dhoni are in the middle-order. Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan are the two spinners, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, and Shaun Tait comprise the pace attack.
Several fans, however, questioned his selections and argued that Lasith Malinga should have been in the XI. Meanwhile, Perera played played 6 Tests, 166 ODIs and 84 T20Is for Sri Lanka, scoring over 3500 runs and taking 237 wickets. However, it was the shortest format that he truly excelled.
Perera retired from international cricket last year. However, he has continued playing franchise cricket since then, He also led Jaffna Kings to the Lanka Premier League title in 2021. Currently, he is representing Minister Group Dhaka in the Bangladesh Premier League.
