The mini-auction for IPL 2026 will take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16, and all franchises are preparing for the event. Ahead of the auction, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the final list of players available for selection. The board has cut 75 per cent of its first list of 1,390 players, and the final list now has only 350 names.

One of the standout additions is South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock. While playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2025, he had a forgettable season, scoring only 152 runs in eight innings at an average of 21.71 and a strike rate of 129.91.

Because of this poor run, KKR decided not to retain the veteran. But in the recent ODI series against India, De Kock hit a superb century in the third ODI in Vizag, and that performance may have helped him find a place in the final list.

De Kock brings experience, having played 115 IPL matches and represented six teams over the years. His base price will be INR 1 crore.

According to the rules, the auction will commence with capped players in the following order: batters, all-rounders, wicketkeeper-batters, fast bowlers, and spinners. After that, the uncapped players will be called in the same sequence. The acceleration round, where players numbered 71 to 350 go under the hammer, will be key. Some names in this phase may surprise fans, depending on franchise interest.
