The Big Bash League 2021-22 has finally come to an end. In what turned out to be an exciting season, the Perth Scorchers have ended up winning the title for the fourth time. Thus, this has officially made them the most successful BBL franchise. As for the game, the Scorchers were asked to bat first by the opposition.

However, things didn't really start well for them as they lost four wickets inside the first six overs. When all hope seemed lost, the skipper, alongside Laurie Evans, rose to the occasion and performed the recuse act. Owing to their respective half-centuries, the Turner-led side got to 171/6 in their 20 overs.

However, this score proved to be more than enough for the Henriques-led side as they were without several of their key players. Thus, they kept losing wickets at regular wickets and thus, were bundled out for 92. With three wickets in his four overs, Andrew Tye was the pick of the bowlers.

"Seems like we do this quite often. Perth was too good for us today and too good for us on a few occasions. To my team, you should be proud of the way you played. Love you all. Well done to everyone for making this tournament possible in these extraordinary times. Congratulations to Perth Scorchers," said Sydney Sixers captain Moises Henriques after the completion of the match.

"I think any captain would stand here and talk about the obstacles we have had to come through to finish this tournament. The Sixers have been the best side for the last two years. They taught us how to play on these wickets. Well done for the way you have played before for your performance this season. Couldn't be more proud of everyone's effort - the support staff, the families. We are fortunate to have got this tournament done," said the victorious captain Ashton Turner.
